How do I create my first tour?

Creating a tour is simple! Tap the "Create" tab, enter your destination city, select a theme (like History, Architecture, or Food), and tap "Generate Tour". Our AI will create a personalized walking route in about 30 seconds.

What are credits and how do they work?

Credits are used for AI features: 20 credits to generate a tour, and 15 credits per minute for voice interactions. New users receive 300 welcome credits. You can purchase more credits or premium unlimited passes through in-app purchases when needed.

Can I use the app offline?

You can navigate existing tours offline using Apple Maps. However, all AI features (tour generation, voice guide, instant AI chat) require an internet connection. Only the turn-by-turn navigation works offline.

How accurate is the voice recognition?

AI-Tourguide uses Apple's on-device speech recognition for maximum privacy and accuracy. It works best in quiet environments. The app automatically detects when you stop speaking and sends your question to the AI guide.

What's the difference between Quality and Fast voice modes?

Quality mode uses advanced voice synthesis for natural-sounding speech (uses ~2MB data per minute), while Fast mode uses a simpler voice for quicker responses (uses ~0.6MB data per minute). Both modes consume the same amount of credits. You can switch modes anytime using the toggle button during navigation.

Can I save tours for later?

Yes! All generated tours are automatically saved to "My Tours" tab. You can access them anytime, even without an internet connection for navigation.

Voice Recognition Not Working

  1. Go to Settings → AI-Tourguide → Speech Recognition and ensure it's enabled
  2. Check that your device language is set to English or German
  3. Make sure you're in a quiet environment
  4. Try restarting the app if the issue persists
  5. Ensure iOS is updated to version 14.0 or later

Location Services Issues

  1. Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services
  2. Find AI-Tourguide and set to "While Using App"
  3. Enable "Precise Location" for accurate navigation
  4. Restart your device if location still doesn't work
  5. Ensure you're in an area with GPS signal (not indoors)

Tour Generation Fails

  1. Check your internet connection is stable
  2. Verify you have sufficient credits (20 required)
  3. Try a different city name or spelling
  4. Select a different theme and try again

Audio Playback Problems

  1. Check your device isn't in silent mode
